Hickory House Recovery Alumni Spotlight: Luca

Meet Luca, a Ramsey, Indiana native and a grateful Hickory House Recovery Alumni. 

Luca was at Hickory House from March 28th until May 5th of 2022 and has maintained his sobriety since leaving. While he holds an associate degree in aviation operations, his passion for helping others has led him to a career working in the field of treatment and recovery.

Deciding to seek help can be difficult. While there are hundreds of treatment centers he could have gone to, Luca says that the care and compassion of the Hickory House staff set the Greenfield, Indiana center apart from the competition. 

During his time at HHR, Luca learned a valuable lesson, “I can live a happy life free of drugs and alcohol.”

Thanks to his recovery, Luca is living a fulfilling and happy life where he enjoys playing volleyball, reading, attending meetings, sponsoring others in the program, and being of service. 

“I have a life I never dreamed of while working for a treatment facility I love,” he shared.

Luca has over a year of sobriety, is a registered drug and alcohol tech, and is pursuing his CADA 1 (Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor) Certification. If you want to know Luca’s best recovery advice, open your Big Book and turn to page 417. Hint…it’s all about acceptance.
