Hickory House offers safe and effective addiction treatment programs for adults with co-occurring mental health disorders. Our drug and alcohol addiction treatment program was created with the belief that treating both the mind and body are paramount to lasting recovery. The process begins with an in-depth assessment and medical evaluation and continues through recovery and beyond. Take a Tour
Our programs include:
- Individual Therapy – Each client will be assigned an individual therapist that will meet with them weekly. During this time the therapist will work one on one with the client to address deep rooted issues that may be tied to poor behavioral patterns and using patterns. During this time the therapist will develop an individualized treatment plan with the client that involves specific goals and skill development necessary to achieve these goals.
- Group Therapy – Clients attend a variety of different groups throughout each day. These groups are evidence-based and provide a good mixture of cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, process-oriented and mindful-based strategies.
- Couples and Family Therapy – Hickory House encourages the involvement of loved ones throughout the treatment process. Any adult that the client identifies as their main positive support system can be brought in to have a therapy session with the client and their therapist. We usually encourage this about halfway through their treatment stay with us. This allows the therapist adequate time to work with the client individually before introducing a new dynamic into the mix. This time is used to address negative behaviors that may not be healthy for the relationship as well as educate the loved one on the disease and ensure accountability for the client upon discharge.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Cognitive behavioral therapy is widely used and helps clients address problem thoughts and feelings to overcome addiction. CBT teaches individuals undergoing treatment for substance abuse to identify links between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while also promoting awareness of how these factors influence recovery.
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) – Dialectical behavior therapy is a proven effective form of talk therapy designed for individuals grappling with intense emotions.
- Experiential Therapies
- Community-Based Recovery Programming – We provide each client a list of recovery resources available to them specific to their geographical location.
- Relapse Prevention – At Hickory House, we take pride in standing steadfast with our clients, keeping them focused on recovery and relapse prevention. We offer long-term coping strategies and techniques to keep you healthy and sober.
Complimentary Therapies include:
- Yoga – We have a registered yoga instructor come 3 days a week and offer group yoga/meditation therapy in 1-hour sessions to anyone who would like to participate.
- Art Therapy – Offered once a week, this allows clients to express and understand their feelings in a more creative space.
- Music Therapy – Clients can participate in music therapy weekly, where they learn to address issues, such as reducing stress, improving mood, and enhancing communication skills through music. Our music therapist teaches them to use music as a tool to support mental, emotional, and physical health and is a popular therapy for everyone.
- Recreational Therapy – Clients are taken off-site once weekly to enjoy playing volleyball, cornhole, and fuse ball with their peers and staff.
- Health and Wellness – Once a week our resident chef Haley leads a group that promotes a holistic approach to recovery and offers alternative skills and strategies for learning and maintaining balance in a variety of areas such as health, nutrition, aromatherapy and self-care.
