Steven Guichelaar RN, BSN, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Steven Guichelaar has a passion for working with people affected by substance abuse and their mental health issues. He graduated with a double major BS in Psychology and Communications. Steven worked in the trades as a carpenter for many years and saw the toll that substance abuse had on coworkers and friends. He decided that he wanted to go back to school to help those friends and coworkers. Steven was able to get his Bachelors in Nursing and worked in geriatrics and behavioral health settings. He felt that he had more to give and went on to his Master’s in Nursing specifically for mental health. He has worked in outpatient settings as well as consulting in hospitals related to mental health and substance abuse. Steven worked with Hickory Treatment Center in 2020 and was excited to be able to come over to Hickory House Recovery. He still enjoys carpentry and home remodeling as well as playing the upright bass.
